Came here Monday night and absolutely loved it. I’m all about a good vibe, and this place nailed it. The atmosphere and décor are super cool and really set the mood. The food was great and totally enjoyable. The host at the door was amazing — friendly, welcoming, and informative. Our server was great too. Overall, such a good experience all around. Definitely would come back!
Overview
Voodoo Bayou in Fort Lauderdale is a hidden gem that effortlessly combines the vibrant flavors of the Bayou with the laid-back charm of Florida. Located at 715 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301, this restaurant offers a delightful fusion of Cajun and Creole dishes, all served in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Walking into Voodoo Bayou, you'll immediately feel a sense of Southern hospitality. The restaurant’s decor perfectly complements the food, with rustic wooden accents, soft lighting, and a cozy, intimate setting. Whether you're sitting at the bar, enjoying the buzz of the crowd, or tucked away at a booth for a quieter experience, the ambiance sets the tone for what’s to come.
One of the standout features of Voodoo Bayou is its diverse menu, which showcases a variety of classic Bayou-inspired dishes. For starters, the Cajun Crawfish Beignets are a must-try. These crispy, golden pockets of deliciousness are filled with tender crawfish, spices, and a zesty dipping sauce that will have your taste buds dancing. Paired with a refreshing drink from their well-curated cocktail list, you’ll be ready to dive into the main course.
When it comes to the main dishes, Voodoo Bayou doesn’t disappoint. The Blackened Fish Tacos are a favorite, offering perfectly seasoned fish with a smoky char, paired with tangy slaw and a dollop of creamy sauce. The tacos are packed with flavor and ideal for those craving a fresh, yet bold bite. Another dish worth noting is their Shrimp and Grits-a Southern classic elevated with a rich, flavorful sauce and plump, juicy shrimp resting atop creamy grits. The combination of textures and flavors is simply irresistible.
If you’re in the mood for something heartier, Voodoo Bayou’s Cajun Jambalaya is the dish to order. Bursting with smoked sausage, chicken, and shrimp, all simmered in a savory tomato-based sauce with the perfect blend of spices, it’s a meal that warms the soul. For those who prefer steak, the Bayou Ribeye is a perfect choice. A tender, juicy steak cooked to perfection and seasoned with a house-made Cajun rub will satisfy even the most discerning carnivores.
In addition to the savory dishes, Voodoo Bayou offers a variety of delectable sides. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes are buttery and rich, while the Cajun Fries have just the right amount of spice to complement any entrée. The Collard Greens, cooked with smoked meat and a touch of heat, add an authentic touch to the meal.

Great food, great location and a cool venue make this a place to try! They have a New Orleans themed menu with all the classics that you would hope to find. The fried chicken was tasty, the cornbread was delicious and the beignets were a great way to top off the meal! They also have a kids menu and our daughters enjoyed their food as well. Service was friendly and our food came out quickly. The venue is really well themed and has both indoor and outdoor seating.
Super unique. Absolutely delicious gourmet and refined food but from scratch, down to Earth and creative. Tyler is the heart of this place. He has tremendous talent and passion for people and food and experience in the mixture that he brings to this location is one of the reasons why you should go there . Make sure to interact with him while you are there. He really brings the specialty and uniqueness to this place full circle by making sure it's integrated into your experience. They have three locations but they have stuff you'll never see elsewhere like an Elvira mug for one of the drinks, a pistol for a beer tap, a huge block of ice stamped and smoking, a black magic lemonade with embers glowing from a stem of rosemary. Combine that with great upbeat music , sports games for viewing, and absolutely unique and incredible dishes. With an unbelievable crawfish etouffee. If you love that dish then this is your place. Also some incredible events featuring specific things like prime rib on Thursday, or Wednesday night wood fired oysters with Chili Butter, or Smoked Wings on Tuesday. This is the place I make sure to hit to regularly, but also to celebrate my birthday because it just has so many fantastic and fun things that I absolutely love. Not too many places that literally have completely different dishes that are phenomenal. This place will not disappoint.
Fun spot that adds a lot of personality to the area! Highlights: good flavor to the jambalaya, really excellent biscuits. Fried chicken was good, really appreciated that it’s bone in chicken. Hiccups: beignets were a little greasy inside, but the overall flavor was ok. I also wish that the drink menu had more Nola classics. It’s a stunning bar design with a lot of options, but I found myself missing the Nola staple drinks. Friendly, attentive service and a fun design to the space. I’d definitely stop by again to try more of their Creole energy dishes.
This place is going to capture you. Celebrate your life with others you care about. Or anyone for that matter. It is just ridiculously great. The corn bread is a national treasure. The red beans and rice comes with andouilee. It is the answer to every problem, disease, or mistake imaginable. If you ever dreamed of flying? Try the collards. You will soar. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. Just fun!!!
Not only was I in love with the decor and aura of Voodoo Bayou, but my server, Ramon, helped me select 3 OUTSTANDING menu items! I started with the fried green tomatoes (my absolute favorite), then had Jambalaya (tasted better as leftovers), and ended my night with Beignets (the heavenliest dessert). I took pictures, but this phones camera is not the best.
I loved this place!! We went for our anniversary and the decor was standout fabulous. The vibe was cool, the entertainer singing was really great. The service was immediate and the food was bomb. Had the deviled eggs & barbecue shrimp for starters. Great flavor, perfectly seasoned, shrimp plump & juicy. Then wifey had the salmon for dinner I had the shrimp & crawfish etoufee. Again great flavor and food tasted fresh. Then for dessert the beignets, they were fire! I'm chilling out with the drinling so no cocktails for me but they looked great. Just loved the vibe and had a great night.
